Experience
As a full time teacher early in my career, I taught Health Education and Science. I left to start aflourishing career as a Sales and Marketing professional. I quickly became a sales trainer and work with varied group sizes but had a major emphasis on one on one tutoring and mentoring. I know am at a point in my life that working 60 to 80 hours in a week is not something I care to or need to do. I am a substitute teacher for many San Diego school systems. I teach regular and special needs classes. I do specialize in the one on one opportunities, where I excel. That is why tutoring is my best fit. I have a real knack of being able to relate to kids, ignite their interest and teach even the most challenging students. I respect them and understand we all need a little more help at times. They recognize immediately my sincerity and real interest in helping them learn. I care and work diligently to have their "light bulb" come on. I attract their attention and keep it. I make it fun to learn and be successful. I set realistic boundaries and make them accountable. I have a very liberal education with an emphasis on education, business, sports medicine and science. I also do well with history and general math. Students often learn in very different ways. And when they have challenges they do not want to be ridiculed or made fun of. They need our respect and attention. I will give them that. Tutoring is my best fit because of that. I have been named Salesmen of the Year twice in my career and have always met or exceeded my expectations and those of my employer. Where I take the most pride is the sales people I trained that have gone on to perform at very high levels. Every teacher’s legacy is not what they accomplished but what their students accomplished then and now!

Hobbies
I'm a big sports fan and can converse about every sport. Golf is my life sport and I so enjoy playing a nice course on a nice day when I hitting the ball well. Golf is somewhat like tutoring. You have to stay focused and it's one on one! I love the outdoors and am always doing something there. Traveling, amusement parks, arts and theatre are also of interest to me. I'm absolutely a Type A personality. So, I’m very outgoing and gregarious. I love people and especially kids! I find a way to accomplish goals. I big on accountability, honesty and no one ever questions my integrity. I won't always tell you student what they want to hear but rather what they need to hear. But, if you show them respect, define goals and lay out a pathway to achieve those goals, they most often favorable respond. I use humor to lighten the mood, relax my student and break the monotony. I will create an environment of respect and teamwork with your student. They want to learn you just need to take the time to listen to them and respect their challenges. I am seasoned educator who can walk the talk. I do not need to work at all now. But, I really have a burning desire to help educate our youth. I would be honored if you feel the fit is right to do just that with your child.
